Walt Disney World has unveiled its largest solar farm.  The 270-acre site in Florida is expected to generate enough energy to power two of the attraction’s four theme parks.

The company previously announced a 22-acre Mickey Mouse-shaped facility in 2016 near its Epcot site.

The new 50-megawatt solar farm has 500,000 panels, the use of which Disney says is the equivalent to removing 10,000 cars from the road.

Disney’s stated goal is to reduce its net greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2020, which will be helped by making solar energy responsible for 25% of its power generation.

Environmental and horticulture experts worked with Disney to ensure the new plant provides a habitat for wildlife such as bees and butterflies.  Two-thirds of the facility is pollinator-friendly, and it also features an experimental test garden to improve ecological research.
