Oslo is leading the way in efforts to clean up the air of the world’s cities, according to the UN. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has praised the Norwegian capital’s push to become fossil-fuel-free.
Oslo is one of many cities taking part in the BreatheLife campaign – a global, multi-organisational initiative that is backed by groups including the UN and the World Health Organization.
Examples of the city’s good practice include its move to curb petrol and diesel vehicles – Oslo has more electric cars per capita than anywhere else in the world. It is one of 40 cities that have signed up to organisation C40‘s clean air campaign.
