British Airways has introduced a series of changes on its flights in order to reduce its impact on the environment, including First Class duvets made from recycled plastic bottles, and Premium Economy amenity kits – the bags that contain items such as eye masks – also made from recycled plastic.

BA’s coffee beans are now delivered in fully compostable packaging, and the airline is offering 15p off the price of drinks to passengers who use their own cup.

All plastic stirrers are being replaced with bamboo versions, while earbuds will be provided without wrapping.  British Airways says these initiatives will save 56.5 tonnes of single-use plastic annually.
