The International Tree Foundation is one of the oldest forestry organisations, having been set up in the UK in 1924.  It plants trees in both the UK and Africa – in the former where there is local environmental need, and in the latter where sustainable tree-planting programmes are vital to ensuring ecological and economic prosperity.  ITF is a grant-making foundation, running projects on its own and in partnership with other organisations.

Recent work includes Fruit-full Communities in partnership with youth charity YMCA in the UK, which saw vulnerable young people planting orchards in their communities; and Trees 4 Livelihoods, which is improving food security and easing poverty in Mali.
