The Reef Trust is a charity formed in 2020 that works to restore and protect the UK’s coastal waters, as well as managing international conservation projects, following the belief that the key to sustainability is mankind’s relationship with the ocean. Its aim is to reconnect people with the sea, by engaging local communities with issues around marine and coastal conservation, as well as seeking support from companies and governments.
The organisation also intends to work with nurseries, schools, colleges and universities to spread information about marine conservation, and among other activities will lobby for policy change and action on issues such as marine conservation zones.
