Trees for Life is a conservation charity promoting and facilitating rewilding projects in the Highlands of Scotland. To date the group has helped to plant around two million trees across 44 sites in the country, working with landowners and communities, and also offers services such as training in rewilding skills and consultancy on woodland management and restoration. It is also supporting the native red squirrel population by moving the animals to new forests.
Individuals and companies can either donate directly or sign up to fund tree-planting initiatives such as Start a Grove, whereby special occasions including weddings and births are commemorated by tree-planting. The public are encouraged to experience the Caledonian woodlands by visiting some of the estates and nature reserves involved in the rewilding programme.
