NOTPLA is a sustainable packaging start-up that is creating advanced wrapping solutions that disappear naturally. Its primary product, Ooho, is an edible and biodegradable alternative to plastic. It is a flexible packaging made from seaweed and plants that can be used for beverages and sauces.
Ooho biodegrades in four to six weeks, and can even be eaten, with the company claiming this makes it an ideal food for when you are on the go. Ooho cups and bottles have been used in the London Marathon in the event’s attempt to remove single-use plastic from the race, as well as other sporting events.
NOTPLA sauce and condiment sachets, meanwhile, are aimed at the take-away industry, and again are a biodegradable, plant-based alternative to plastic containers.
Originally financed by crowdfunding, and then investment from Sky Ocean Ventures, NOTPLA is now planning to expand its product range into biodegradable films and coatings.
The products detailed above are available to purchase in minimum quantities of 250 units.
