The Restart Project is a social enterprise that enables the public to fix their broken products rather than throw them away, via Restart Parties.  At these events, consumers gather with their items – from headphones to smartphones – and volunteers repair them, while showing them how it is done.  To date more than 7,000 devices have been fixed that would likely have been disposed of in the belief that they were either unrepairable or too expensive to repair.

Originally based in London, these Parties (see a list of upcoming events here) now take place UK-wide, in Europe and as far away as Canada.  The project also works with schools, teaching children repair skills as well as the ethics behind the movement.
