We really are spoilt for choice now when it comes to plastic-free plant pots.
POSIpot is made from unbleached, recycled cardboard. As well as this green credential, the inside has what the company calls “a slight sheen”, which slows the absorption of water from within, thereby meaning less water is needed to give to the plant before it is planted out. Once in soil, the pot composts naturally, and the company claims that it is superior to coir because small roots can penetrate it more easily.
The pots range in price from £10 for 100 7cm pots, to £22 for 100 3-litre pots (the price per pot is reduced for bulk orders above these quantities).
Its parent company edibleculture makes a range of plastic-free and sustainable gardening products.
