Sustainability at home isn’t just about you and your family – it’s about your pets too.  Project Blu, which describes itself as more of a movement than a brand, is innovating pet products made from ocean-bound plastic and used clothes.  This not only removes such waste from the environment, but the company’s strong design credentials result in products that are built to last – and when consumers have finished with them, Project Blu will help them donate the items to animal shelters or to locate recycling centres.

Its product range includes dog and cat beds, dog collars and leashes, and dog toys.  Everything is made from a polyester fabric and fillings derived from upcycled waste plastic, and all are durable.  Its Eco Dog Beds (Nest) and Eco Cat Beds cost £44.99; collars £10.99; leashes £19.99; and toys £5.99.

The company has converted more than 250 million plastic bottles into pet accessories since May 2019, and it donates proceeds from sales to social enterprise Plastic Bank.
